Director of Women’s Discipleship
Overview
The Director of Women’s Discipleship exists to create a disciple-making culture among the women of Riverside Church. This leader will serve as the primary female disciple-maker in our church, equipping and developing female leaders to disciple others. The role will also collaborate with the broader Adult Ministries Team to champion a culture of discipleship church wide.

As the Director of Women’s Discipleship, your primary calling is to equip women to live as disciple-makers—multiplying others and reflecting the heart of Jesus in their everyday lives.
Key Responsibilities
Discipleship Development

Personally disciple key female leaders and coaches.
-
Equip and raise up women leaders to lead small groups, cord groups, and disciple-making environments.

Oversee the development of an apprentice system within Women’s Groups.

Ensure that women in groups are consistently being challenged and supported to grow toward maturity in Christ through intentional discipleship.

Utilize Riverside’s Basecamp training to equip leaders in practical disciple-making skills.
Strategic Leadership
-
Vision-cast the mission of Riverside Church within the Women's Ministry.

Contribute to the Adult Ministries strategy (e.g., Basecamp trainings, Life Group leadership development).

Create intentional pathways for women to engage in spiritual formation and leadership.
Shepherding and Care
-
Ensure that women within groups are being cared for spiritually, emotionally, and physically.

Oversee hospital visits, meals, and prayer follow-up through group leaders.
-
Be available for limited counseling, spiritual guidance, and crisis care.
Intentional Event Planning and Engagement

Plan and lead strategic women’s events that serve a clear purpose in the discipleship pathway, such as:

Serve Days// Mission Trips – engaging women in outward-focused mission opportunities

Gatherings and Socials – creating relational on-ramps for deeper community

Bible Studies and Training Events – equipping women in Scripture and disciple-making

Design each event with intentional next steps that encourage women to move into Life Groups, discipling relationships and serving opportunities.

Ensure that events are aligned with the overall vision of making and sending disciples who love and live like Jesus.

Ensure a natural flow from events into deeper connection and discipleship pathways.
Administrative Responsibilities

Steward the Women’s Discipleship budget responsibly.

Track group health, spiritual growth, leadership pipelines, and participation metrics through Planning Center and regular reporting.

Oversee event planning and coordination, in partnership with other ministries when needed.

Regularly evaluate and improve discipleship processes and systems.
