Thank you for making a difference to those who have been negatively affected by Hurricane Ian. We as a church have taken the following approach to help our community. We started this journey in a sprint immediately following the hurricane by cleaning out homes, tarping roofs, removing debris, providing meals, opening a free store, delivering supplies, and providing a giant tent for Southwest Florida Baptist Church to have a place to gather for worship.

 

As we moved into more of a relay race, we have had teams, small groups and individuals helping to rebuild homes in the "Iona" and "Island Park" area as well as fixing some damage experienced here at Riverside.

 

Our next step is to craft a marathon approach by partnering with a disaster relief ministry named Reach Global who will be stationed on our campus for at least the next two years. They will bring in and send out teams from all over the country into our community to help rebuild homes, provide support for both spiritual and mental health all while building relationships. It is through those relationships that we hope to share the gospel and make disciples of Jesus. Thank you again for partnering with us to help those in need in this ongoing effort.
