Riverside's Elementary Program is called KidZone. It is a Sunday morning environment for elementary-aged kids (K – 5th grade) that includes an energetic large group setting for worship and teaching paired with a relational small group time led by an adult.  KidZone meets during both services.

KIDZONE MISSION AND CURRICULUM

KidZone is where elementary-aged kids come to learn and apply God’s truths in an engaging environment.  We believe that exploring the Bible and worshiping God should be fun!  There are three basic truths we want every kid to personalize before they head to middle school:volunteer
  1. I need to make the wise choice.
  2. I can trust God no matter what.
  3. I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
Our lessons are organized around a monthly core virtue and broken down into weekly key concepts.  We want kids to not just absorb information, but to discover how to apply God’s truths to their lives; how His truths should be the basis for their decision making.That’s why the small group environment is so important! 

We want kids to see how God’s Word fits into their lives, to learn how to talk to Him, and to build lasting friendships.  We encourage you to bring your child to the same hour every Sunday so they can be with the same friends and the same leader.We believe the family plays the most important role in the lives of the kids.  That’s why we provide a weekly Fridge Door card that reviews the Bible lesson, virtue, and Bible verse, along with a GodTime card that includes four devotions for your child to reinforce the virtue.


KidZone Service Times

KidZone offers a program for both the 9:00 and 10:30 services.


Check In Process

Outside of our KidZone hallway is a greeter table with a volunteer who will help you with the check in process.  Your child will be given a name badge with a number and you will be given a card with the matching number.  Children will be released only to an adult with the matching number card.  The volunteer will direct you and your child to the appropriate small group room.  This is the same room where you will pick up your child after the service. 

Program Time Line

Your child will spend the first 10 minutes with their small group, where they will be involved in an activity that gets them thinking about the focus of the morning's lesson.  The group will then walk together to the large group room.  Our large group environment is where all the kids come together for engaging worship and a Bible lesson presented in a dynamic way.  After the 30 minute program, small groups go back to their individual rooms for further activities and discussions to help the kids apply what they've just learned.



SPECIAL NEEDS

SonShiners is a small group for kids with special needs, offered for the 10:30 service.
