Discovery Mission

volunteerOur goal is to create a safe and predictable environment where people can discover authentic community, spiritual growth and healing. 
  1. The process of becoming like Christ is active rather than passive.
  2. Because of what God has already done for us, we are to actively “clothe ourselves” with the qualities He wants us to develop, such as compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience (Colossians 3:12 ).
  3. If we recognize needs in our own lives and are actively growing in these areas, we can help others in their quest for growth.

History

Riverside Church started Celebrate Recovery and Enrichment (now known as Discovery) February 11, 2001. An average of over 400 people meet each week at Discovery attending various classes and meetings. This ministry has been the desire of Pastor Dale's heart for many years. Thirty-three years of sobriety in Alcoholics Anonymous characterizes Dale’s story. Dale celebrates more than 40 years of marriage to his wife Karen. Pastor Dale’s blessings come from seeing lives being transformed through an authentic relationship with Jesus.
